Upon completion of her first year at CSSW, Candice Castillas (MS’15) was offered a job with a deferred starting date by the U.S. Department of Justice, in the area of victim support. She interned with DOJ this past summer and will work for them once a week through the current academic year before transitioning to a full-time, paid position. Candice’s method is Advanced Clinical Practice and her field is Health, Mental Health, and Disabilities.
For her first-year field placement, Marsha Smith (MS’14) was assigned to an elderly care organization in Brooklyn. She came up with a novel proposal for improving her clients’ lives—and then Hurricane Sandy arrived.
CSSW’s new Achievement Initiative provides college prep and vocational training to students in select Harlem high schools. Run by one of our alums, it’s also a field placement for our NYC campus.
